You will check in on the yacht, take a walking tour of the city and spend the night in the port of Alicante. The capital of Costa Blanca is considered a sailing mecca, as it is the starting point of Volvo Ocean Race, a premier yacht race around the world held every two years. You will visit the museum dedicated to this legendary regatta, take a stroll on Explanada de España, a promenade made of 6.5 million marble tiles, climb up to Santa Bárbara Castle and enjoy the stunning panoramic view of the city. Pick a dinner of your choice from Iberian steak and premium wine in the restaurant “Bodeguita 1999”, red tuna with Iberian ham in the busy “El Portal” from the Michelin Red Guide or traditional dishes in the tavern “El Puerto”.
Your first port of call will be Puerto de El Campello, a quiet town with well-preserved fishing and gastronomical traditions, as well as 23 kilometers of Blue Flag sandy, rocky and pebble beaches and excellent scuba diving routes. It is also famous for the peninsula La Isleta, an archeological site of Copper and Bronze Age and Roman “Queen’s Baths” (Baños de La Reina). You can have lunch in the Basque restaurant “Andra Mari”, recommended by Michelin Red Guide and included in the top ten restaurants of Europe. For dinner, you can buy freshly caught fish at the unique local fish market on the beach Carrer Del Mar. Taste great wines with prices ranging from €1 to €4,000 in “Bodega Estebán de la Rosa”, run by a sommelier with 30 years of experience and a whole wall of diplomas.
On the third day your yacht will enter the port of Benidorm, a modern city which is often called Spanish Rio de Janeiro or Las Vegas. You will find yourselves in the international entertainment center and will be surprised to know that just a few decades ago it was a small fishing village. Enjoy the sun on the golden sands of the 2 kilometer long beach Playa del Levante, take a stroll on the “English promenade” and check out the 210-meter-tall Gran Hotel Bali, one of the tallest buildings in Europe. You can also dance to the sets of world famous DJs, ride thrilling roller coasters in Terra Mitika, a 1million square meters amusement park and enjoy flamenco in Benidorm Palace music hall. And if you are looking for peace and tranquility, go to Isla de Benidorm and have dinner in the favorite restaurant of the locals “Resumen”.
You will enter the quiet harbor of the fishing town of Calpe. Spend this day relaxing on the cozy beach of Cantal Roig, only 200 meters long, and swimming in ancient Roman “Queen’s baths” (Baños de la Reina). Admire pink flamingoes in the salty lake Las Salinas and climb up to the view point Mirador Monte Toix. Walk the streets of old town (Casco Antiguo en Calpe) and the promenade of the prince of Asturias (Paseo ecológico Príncipe de Asturias). Have lunch in “Andalucia” and dinner in “El Cantal Restaurant”, with its exquisite octopus carpaccio, black paella, lobster salad, grilled langoustes, Carabineros prawns (exclusive to Calpe!) and horchata drink. We will book you a table with a stunning view of the 322-meter-tall cliff Peñon de Ifach.
Your yacht will be moored in the picturesque port of Javea, whose residents can be proud of many things: they are the first to see the sunrise in Spain, they invented the fish sauce Garum and have the healthiest microclimate in the world according to the World Health Organization. You will watch the sun waking up in the eastmost point of the country — cape Cabo de la Nao, visit “the little Caribbean” and enjoy the medieval architecture and the stunning nature of the town, surrounded by cliffs, orange and olive tree plantations. Between the excursions you will visit the best restaurants — “Corral del Pato”, “Casa Pepa”, “Drassanes” in the old town, “La Boheme”, “El Mono Loco” and “Los Remos” on the beach and “El Clavo”in the port. While having dinner at the restaurant “Mena” on the Mount of Montgó, you will enjoy the sunset over the sea and the island of Ibiza.
A new portion of excitement is ready for you at the royal city of Gandia. Spend the day on the large golden beaches of Playa de Gandia, 15 km long. And when the heat dies down, take a stroll along the promenade Paseo Maritim Neptu and in the hometown of the Borgia family, the most influential clan of Europe during Renaissance that produced two Popes. You can also visit the Palace of Borgia, St Anna’s Church, St. Clara’s Convent and the square La Plaza Escuela Pías. You will spend the night on the yacht in the port Real Club Nautico. Don’t miss out on the traditional dishes of Gandia — paella with pasta (Fideua) and orange mousse — in restaurants “La Gamba” and “La Gastrocasa”, whose chef has earned Michelin stars for several restaurants.
You one-week yacht trip to Valencia will end with a gastronomic orgasm. During your sightseeing tour of the city you will taste authentic Valencian paella that was born in Valencia in the 19th century near the lake in Albufera natural park and became famous worldwide. Don’t miss Spanish haute cuisine in one of restaurants with Michelin stars and Repsol Suns (the most prestigious culinary award in Spain) — “Ricard Camarena”, “Riff”, “El Poblet”, “Vertical”, “Mercatbar”, “Sucede”, etc. We have also prepared a surprise for your farewell dinner – the chef of “Amparo of Valencia” will open the doors of his house for you and cook traditional Valencian dishes. As a Spanish proverb goes, “A good dinner makes the whole trip worthwhile!”
Your one-week sailing vacation will come to an end in Valencia. Enjoy a sunrise breakfast near the sea and we will take you to the airport.
